Introduction to the academic department

Educational curriculum of all the courses in the VR Game & App Department is designed with competency-based educational curriculums. It is optimized for cultivation of competent persons for the cutting-edge platform including mobile app contents, mobile game and virtual reality (VR) technology, etc. In particular, the educational curriculum is designed with focus on virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and mobile technology (app and game), which are application technologies necessary for the 4th industrial revolution. We are cultivating competent persons appropriate for the latest technology industry trend through academic courses including project planning, HTML5, UNITY, C, JAVA, app development (business startup), mobile game and UI/UX design, game quality management and VR contents production, etc. in addition to basic education on convergent IT, which is the basic technology specialized for smart IT environment. In particular, this academic department has been fortifying competency-based education to nurture creative convergent-type competent personnel necessary for the 4th generation industrial revolution as well as VR / AR / MR contents developer, VR game contents developer and mobile app contents developer required by the relevant industries by developing and operating customized educational curriculum in accordance with the work areas and educational contents that educational consumers (industries) are requesting, following our reorganization into a 3-year degree course since 2021
AI Convergence Department has the goal of cultivating practical affairs manpower in compliance with the increasing demands for technological manpower in the AI area. We are striving to nurture manpower capable of developing, operating and managing solution for diversified scenarios demanded by industries and society through technology capable of interpreting image, video and native language, and recognizing the situation flexibly through machine learning. Students will be taught (1) concept of algorithm, (2) realization by using software-based technology (database, SW modeling and programing language) and (3) practical affairs technologies that can be applied to diversified industrial areas with focus on deep learning, neural network, machine learning and native language technology among the AI technologies. Lecture contents are designed with focus on the practicum centered-around the practical affairs at worksite in order for students to more easily understand IT area and acquire relevant qualification certificates naturally by listening to lectures for the academic courses by linking them with qualification exams.

Educational goals

• First, nurture workers with integrity who will be exemplary to others in the area of AI convergence technology, accomplish self-sufficiency in terms of competencies for practical works as well as specialized knowledge necessary for AI on the basis of the personality education aimed at nurturing the attitude to serve and be responsible for the society.
Second, nurture personality as a cultured citizens with integrity in their capacity as professional workers in the area of AI convergence technology.
Third, cultivate practical on-site type manpower equipped with creativity and technological knowledge in AI convergence area.
Fourth, nurture specialists in the area of convergent video security area equipped with cognition of the importance of advancement of AI industry and proper work ethics.
Fifth, nurture ability to adapt to and lead changes in international industry by cultivation international sensibility through linguistic education and multicultural experiences.
