Mechanical System Major in Mechanical Engineering Department is an academic discipline for studying specialized knowledge and technologies related to designing, manufacturing and operation of machine related equipment and facilities used in all industrial areas including automobile, ship building, aviation, energy, plant, electrical, electronics, semiconductor and robotics, etc. For this purpose, the major in Mechanical System is operating competency-based, educational curriculum ranging from basic theoretical education for the major such as mechanical drawing, mechanical element design, workshop practice, material dynamics, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics, etc., which are the basics in the traditional manufacturing industry, to application technologies such as computer aided design (CAD), computer aided manufacturing (CAM), computer aided engineering (CAE), PLC control and automation equipment design, etc. required in the knowledge-based industrial sites in order to nurture specialized manpower capable of working in the areas of mechanical system design and production automation.
