Introduction to the academic department

Unlike the existing system under which students enroll into the university by deciding on academic department or area of major prior to enrollment, students are allowed to search area of major that is appropriate for their aptitude by personally taking courses in various areas of major during the 1st semester in the 1st year after enrollment. Through such experiences, students can select any academic department for their final decision on the major area of study in the 2nd semester and will earn graduation diploma from the academic department they selected. Even if the student is not able to select the major he/she wants in the 2nd semester, the student can still get his/her own convergence degree after having experienced diversified areas of major offered by this academic department.
Food & Nutrition Department is teaching core competencies for meal service management service, nutritional treatment service for prevention of diseases and quality control service for food safety with the vision of enhancing national health. With the goal of acquisition of qualification as nutritionists, hygienist and chef through 2-year diploma courses, we are nurturing food and nutrition specialist equipped with on-site practical capabilities. The educational curriculums are composed of food nutrition, food hygiene, functional food and restaurant service.

Educational goals

‘Nurturing food and nutrition specialist equipped with on-site practical capabilities’ under the vision of ‘enhancement of national health through provision of specialized services in food & nutrition’ is the educational goal of the Department.
