Introduction to the academic department

Chinese Business Major is nurturing competent persons to work in Korea-China business sectors in alignment with the expansion of trading and exchange between Korea and China. For this purpose, we are providing well balanced curriculum between Chinese language courses and business courses in order for students to learn Chinese language and business knowledge necessary in Korea-China businesses. Classes on Chinese language focus on speaking in order to improve conversational ability of students while business classes are focusing on the business areas in China. In particular, this major is cultivating overseas adaption ability and practical on-site affairs capabilities at industries of the students through provision of opportunity to study language in China, on-site practicum in China and Korea, and programs such as Capstone Design, etc. Through such educational foundation, majority of students with this major are successful in finding employment at very high rate for the occupation that they wish to work in.

Educational goals

Over the last 30 years, China has emerged as the foremost growth engine of the global economy by achieving very rapid economic growth at the annual rate of 10%. Economic exchange between Korea and China also increased very rapidly with China establishing itself as the biggest trading partner of and country of investment by Korea. Korea and China have forged inseparable accompanied growth relationship through very active exchanges in the areas of politics, culture and academia, etc. along with very high economic inter-dependence. Accordingly, there is a rapid increase in the demand for manpower to be infused into Chinese business area in various areas of our society including corporations and government offices. Our academic department, therefore, is aiming to nurture specialized and competent manpower for Chinese business who can comply with such demands.
