Dr. Ilhan New was a pioneering entrepreneur who introduced new corporate ethics in Korea, and he was also an educator, social activist, and independence activist. In recognition of his achievements, he was posthumously awarded the National Order of Sharon, the nation's highest honor, at the time of his death in 1971. In 1995, at the 50th-anniversary celebration of liberation, he was posthumously awarded the National Order of Merit and Independence Medal. In 1996, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism selected him as the "Cultural Figure of June."
Dr. New devoted most of his life to establishing and developing national enterprises under Japanese colonial rule.
However, his patriotic life of striving for his country's independence through the independence struggle in the United States is also highly regarded as an essential part of his life.
